During the ICRA@40 congress, the 40th anniversary of IEEE RAS (Robotics and Automation Society) is celebrated. IEEE is an international technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a worldwide community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. IEEE organizes multiple events per year at various locations around the world. This time the anniversary was celebrated in Rotterdam. Rotterdam partners has proposed VKOZ as PCO for hotel contracts, social events and the trade fair.

Did you know… IEEE stands for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers?

The program was mainly plenary in the RTM Stage in Rotterdam Ahoy. There were many speakers who could talk about the profession. On the third floor, in De Rotterdam, we had a trade fair. Here sponsors had a trade fair stand where all participants could walk past during the breaks and get information. There were even a few robots! We collaborated with Hestex here. We also had an interactive poster session on screens. Various presenters from universities, for example, told their story here. In addition, we had an idea theater for the arena lunches. During the social program, the participants went to the Laurenskerk for the VIP dinner and the Happy Birthday party was celebrated in the Cruise Terminal.

For this event we collaborated with many parties. Thanks to them we were able to make ICRA@40 a great success. Without Ahoy, ACS, Hestex and Ideeëntheater we could not realize the four-day congress. They provided the location, catering, technology, the exhibition stands and arena lunches. Photographer Guido Pijper captured beautiful images, BonBon provided the catering for the gala dinner in the Laurenskerk and Dudok, Flitskoning and Yourband completed the fantastic party in the Cruise Terminal.
